My work is not based on any single religious tradition. I have learned from many religious paths and I work with people from any and all backgrounds, including those who have no religious affiliation or who are agnostics or atheists.
PLEASE NOTE: I am unable to offer individual sessions until May 2012.
There are times when we struggle with some of the most profound questions in life, such as those related to God, purpose and meaning. It may be hard to see what is preventing us from achieving the spiritual wellbeing and connection which we long to have. Spiritual counselling provides a safe and non-judgemental space where spiritual concerns can be formulated, expressed and explored. As you put your concerns into words and hear yourself telling your story you can see your spiritual life with some distance and from a new perspective. This results in new insights and a deeper understanding of yourself and your spirituality.
Some people refer to spiritual counselling as spiritual mentoring or spiritual coaching. I prefer to call it spiritual counselling because for me, the essential element is spiritual friendship. A spiritual counsellor is a friend of the soul. By being fully present to your spiritual story, providing feedback, support and understanding, I can help you embrace your story and together we may see elements of your spiritual life that were not clearly visible before.
I use an eclectic model of spiritual counselling, employing elements from several approaches and tools such as Transpersonal Psychology, the Enneagram, the Transtheoretical Model of Change, Motivational Counselling and Life Skills Startup Model. My work is also informed by my spiritual search and practices, as well as spiritual teachings and theologies from various traditions.

Seeking connection with the spiritual has been part of human nature from very early times in human history. To this day, the longing to experience connection with the divine continues to be a driving force in the lives of many people. I facilitate greater spiritual fulfilment by providing spiritual counselling to individuals who are, or would like to be, engaged in a spiritual search.
Each person has a unique way to seek spiritual fulfilment. Some prefer a more unstructured path, drawing from many traditions and applying teachings according to their inner inspiration. Others prefer a more structured approach involving commitment to the teachings of one specific tradition. Some are more comfortable exploring spirituality through paranormal activities. Others prefer a more scientific approach that takes into consideration the latest theories of quantum physics and cosmology. Still others may not want any of the above, and may not even perceive themselves as being spiritual seekers. They find spiritual contentment just by sitting in the forest and listening to the silence. I work with the individual preferences of each person, exploring spiritual questions, helping address spiritual concerns and consider options for spiritual growth.
Our understanding of spiritual reality is constantly evolving. As a result, the way we seek spiritual connection is also in a constant process of change. Sometimes it can be hard to figure out what is happening with our spirituality or what we need to do to continue growing spiritually. We may feel disoriented and upset. However, these changes often lead to profound spiritual growth and transformation. My goal is to facilitate greater spiritual fulfilment by providing spiritual support and guidance to individuals undergoing a process of spiritual transformation.
Spiritual transformation can take many forms. It can be a process of questioning long held beliefs or a feeling of spiritual emptiness or darkness. It may manifest itself through negative feelings about one’s spirituality, such as a sense of spiritual failure, a sense of having tried many possible options, but still feeling unfulfilled. It can also be an ongoing, profound longing for a deeper spiritual connection. It can be a combination of these, or something else that takes away our sense of spiritual wellbeing. Spiritual transformation may also involve a movement from atheism towards scepticism, or from agnosticism towards belief — or vice-versa. It may also be a flow from spiritual apathy to spiritual longing, or the other way around.
It is in these challenging times that spiritual counselling can provide some companionship and comfort. The focus of my work is to help individuals resolve any kind of spiritual crisis, conflicts or difficulties related to religion or their spirituality. As a spiritual counsellor, I facilitate new understanding of the process of transformation and help people move towards the spiritual fulfilment and answers they seek.
